I recently had to take a drive to Mexico….Yeah, Mexico, Maine. Yes, there is such a place. The reason for my 2-hour drive was to purchase a few board feet of wood from another local supplier so that I could finish up a few orders and restock my shop. I was surprised to see over 1-milion board feet of rough lumber of all types and sizes. Yes, well over a million board feet of wood…I was in heaven. I took several hours looking at the stacks, and getting my bearings, so that I could make the most of my time. This photo was taken from the upper mezzanine. The palletized stacks were 4 high in the warehouse. I came across some rare and exotic woods, and had to purchase a few prime cuts for my utensils and future projects. This 1-of-7 warehouses has every type of wood you could imagine from Ebony, to Bubinga, to the more exotic had to find woods. There isn't a wood that he don't carry! The owner was more then happy letting me pull and pick what I needed. It was a good day, I walked away with a Jeep full of wood for my kitchen utensils and other woodworking projects.
