I've been working on different aspects of design and functionality while at the same time adding a few unique features to a few spoons. This week I've been experimenting with walnut fill as an inlay feature. This spoon is called "Dragon in The Garden of Eden". Walnut dust has been filled into the area where I engraved. The result was something I didn't expect, but I'm please with the preliminary results. Although the final result was darkened by the set glue, it shows promise for future applications. I'll be testing other woods in the same way and hopefully I'll be able to mix and match different color woods to my creations. I'll be looking into rock dust, copper, silver, and gold as alternatives too.
"Dragon in The Garden of Eden" -The Dragon - Symbolizes strength, and will bestow good luck on those that are worthy. This legendary creature in Chinese mythology has captured the imagination of so many. This dragon has wings, four legs, and depicts a flying raptor that breaths fire and talks with a serpents tongue. -The Garden of Eden - Symbolizes innocence during a time before creation. The garden symbolizes new life and the never ending life force that sustains and moves all of creation.
